On August 26, 2024, Jinglu Shipyard successfully delivered the "CELSIUS EDINBURGH," the third 3000TEU container ship built for Danish owner Celsius Shipping, with the vessel ready to depart on the same day. This marks the eighteenth successful delivery by the shipyard this year.
Thanks to the collaborative efforts of all parties involved and the dedication of the shipyard staff, the vessel achieved an unprecedented level of launch integrity during the dock period. The delivery time was reduced from two weeks for the first ship in the series to just one week after sea trials. The company is committed to continually refining its construction techniques and experience to ensure that subsequent vessels reach even higher construction standards, delivering superior quality to shipowner.
The vessel measures 35.2 meters in width and has a draft of 11.0 meters, powered by a low-speed engine with a continuous power output of 14,880 kW, featuring a single engine and propeller, and achieving a speed of 19 knots. It has a capacity to carry 3,006 standard containers and is inspected by the ABS classification society, with a range of approximately 15,700 nautical miles. This vessel type is designed for medium-range operations, suitable for both feeder and medium-haul routes, representing an efficient, economical, and environmentally friendly solution in container shipping.
