On September 9, 2024, Jinglu Shipyard successfully delivered the "ELBTOWER" and "ELBBRIDGE," two 1400TEU container ships built for Germany owner United Shipping Companies. These vessels represent the eighth and ninth in the series and the nineteenth and twentieth successful deliveries this year, laying a solid foundation for exceeding the 2024 operational targets.
The construction period for these ships has been further shortened compared to previous vessels in the series, a testament to the collaboration and concerted effort of all departments at Jinglu Shipyard. Despite the challenges of continuous high temperature and rainy weather, we achieved a record of just 43 days from launch to sea trials, and successfully delivered the ship in just one week after the sea trial.
Designed primarily for the Baltic Sea region, the ship’s hull shape has been deeply optimized to significantly reduce wave resistance at a speed of 19 knots, while balancing economic cruising speed and navigational resistance under various trim conditions. With equivalent deadweight, these vessels consume less energy and achieve higher speeds. They are equipped to navigate congested waterways and inland ports, featuring bow and stern thrusters, an efficient twisted rudder, and retractable masts and radar to pass under restricted bridges. Compact in size yet complex in systems, these vessels are considered the pinnacle of feeder container vessels.
